As a parent, you may want to know more about the work your child and I will do together.

While these skills are easily seen in sports, they serve your child well in many aspects of life.

  • The Classroom

Students today are bombarded with stressful tasks. Between final exams, SATs, presentations, speeches, and pop quizzes, mental skills will improve your child’s ability to organize their thoughts, manage nerves, and thrive in the face of anxiety.

  • Job Interviewing

Interviews are a quick ticket to feeling the effects of anxiety. Mental skills will help your child feel a sense of calm and confidence heading into interviews.

  • Managing Relationships

Training communication skills, emotional control, and how to actively listen are all components of a great performer and athlete. This includes the relationship between oneself and their mind. Watch how your child naturally transfers these lessons from the field to their relationships at home and school.

Collaborative Confidentiality

  • What is Collaborative Confidentiality?

Collaborative confidentiality is where we come up with a system of confidentiality that leaves the parents and the athlete happy.

Example 1: I send a written summary of topics we discussed after each session.

Example 2: the parent(s) sit in on the first and/or last 5 minutes of each call.

Many parents opt to let their child bring up material from our sessions on their own, allowing for maximum privacy.

We’ll discuss our unique system in the introductory call, though no decision needs to be made then.

  • Why Is Confidentiality Important?

Many performers experience apprehension when discussing sensitive subjects with their peers and superiors.

An athlete, for example, might be worried about opening up at the risk of their coach cutting their playing time, teammates losing trust in their capabilities, or they are afraid of appearing weak.

Unfortunately, this ends up exacerbating the issue if the athlete keeps everything to themselves.

Confidentiality allows a unique space for athletes to open up about anything on their mind with the confidence of knowing our conversations will be private.

Performing has the potential to enhance or diminish your child’s ability to grow from adversity and stress. Connect with me today and see how we can work together.
